Kingston Transit bus detours around Stuart Street

Due to restricted traffic flow on Stuart Street because of snow, Kingston Transit has advised KGH that its buses will not serve stops on Stuart St. until further notice. Buses will be unable to access stops on Stuart St. between Lower University Ave. and Barrie St. in both directions and this includes the Queen’s University/KGH Express stop. This detour includes Routes 501, 502, 1, 2, 17, 18, 19.

Please consult the list of detour changes below provided by Kingston Transit:

Route 501 Express buses will detour at the intersection of Barrie and Stuart Sts.: straight on Barrie and right to King. Buses will stop at the existing (non-accessible) Route 1 stop on Bagot St. at Barrie St., and at the existing (non-accessible) Route 3 stop on King St. west of Lower University Ave.

Route 502 Express buses will detour at the intersection of King and Albert Sts.: straight on King, left to Barrie, and right to Bagot. Buses will stop at the existing (non-accessible) Route 3 stop on King St., east of Lower University Ave., and at a temporary (non-accessible) stop on Barrie St. at Stuart St.

Route 1 St. Lawrence College and Route 18 Train Station Circuit buses will detour at the intersection of Barrie and Stuart Sts: straight on Barrie, right to King, right to Lower University, left to Stuart, and right to University. Buses will stop at the existing (accessible) Route 3 stop at George St., and at a temporary (accessible) stop on Lower University Ave., south of Stuart St.

Route 1 Montreal St. buses will detour at the intersection of Stuart and Lower University: right to Lower University, left to King, left to Barrie, and right to Bagot. Buses will stop at a temporary (accessible) stop on Stuart St. between University Ave. and Lower University Ave., at the existing (non-accessible) Route 3 stop on King St. east of Lower University Ave., and at a temporary (non-accessible) stop on Barrie St. at Stuart St. Route 2 Kingston Centre buses will detour at the intersection of Bagot and West St: right to West, left to Court, and straight to Union. Buses will stop at a temporary (non-accessible) stop on Court St. at Barrie St. Route 2 Kingston Centre buses will not serve Kingston General Hospital during this closure. Route 2 Division St. buses will detour at the intersection of Union St. and University Ave.: straight on Union, straight to Court, right to West, and left to Bagot to resume regular route. Buses will stop at a temporary (non-accessible) stop on Court St., east of Barrie St. Route 2 Division St. buses will not serve Kingston General Hospital during this closure.

Route 17 Queen’s Main Campus/West Campus late-night buses will detour at the intersection of Stuart St. and Lower University Ave.: right to Lower University Ave. and right to King St. to resume regular route. Route 17 buses will serve a temporary stop on Stuart St. west of Lower University Ave.; Route 17 will not serve other stops on Stuart St., or at King and George Sts. during this closure. Route 19 Queen’s/KGH (morning) buses will detour at the intersection of King and Barrie Sts.: straight on King, right to Lower University, left to Stuart, and right to University. Buses will stop at the existing (accessible) Route 3 stop at George St., and at a temporary (accessible) stop on Lower University Ave., south of Stuart St.

Route 19 Montreal St. Park & Ride (evening) buses will detour at the intersection of Stuart St. and Lower University Ave.: right to Lower University, and left to King. Buses will stop at a temporary (accessible) stop on Stuart St. between University Ave. and Lower University Ave., and at the existing (non-accessible) Route 3 stop on King St., east of Lower University Ave.
