Stuart Street Reconstruction

The City of Kingston plans to carry out road reconstruction along Stuart Street, Arch Street, George Street, and O'Kill Street during the summer of 2014. A primary focus of this work will be infrastructure improvement and renewal. Sidewalks and road surfaces will be replaced as part of this work.

Beginning on 3 December 2013, contractors working on behalf of Queen's University and Kingston General Hospital (KGH) will be digging test pits along Stuart Street and George Street to expose, survey and inspect infrastructure owned by both groups. The information obtained will be provided to the City of Kingston to assist in the design phase of the reconstruction project. Drivers should be prepared for minor traffic delays while this work is in progress.

Queen's University and KGH are working closely with the City of Kingston to facilitate the work and to minimize disruptions to University and Hospital activities as the work progresses. Further information about this project can be obtained from the City of Kingston website: http://www.cityofkingston.ca/city-hall/projects-construction/infrastructure-projects
